stan kenton is one of his favorite band leaders. "when he'd play, you have to back away from the band stand. kenton was loud."
dr. kerry ainsworth spoke of many of the great band leaders -- and great swing bands for that matter during our portrait session.
we chatted over many things -- comparing contemporary relationships/matrimony to previous generations, ins and outs of health care reform, folks in canada, and of course music -- keely smith, the four freshmen, cugat, and a few others.

natural light from the studio continues to shine favorably. today i worked with et hacskaylo. she has a way with the painting and watercolor as you can see in the framed work behind her. though in a calm pose, she is in the throws of final preparations for her solo exhibit in october at the art center.
