any way you choose, you get two fascinating asheboro folks. they sat a la 'american gothic' today . . . with hats. and a donkey painting. and a long board.
for the past two weeks the days have been filled with young people painting away. two nights were reserved for adult painting. like many events in this town the sessions were well attended.
it was asked of me to detail the images of the library and the soldier statue in front of the old court house. while working i met an old foagey -- that's with an 'a.'
britt robbins is a local cat who strolled up with a walking stick that sang -- a one string gitfiddle. as he thumbed "mary had a little lamb" he told me a thing or two about industrial painting with burnt umber. the man knows his colors.
the mayor came up one night and checked in on things.
another fellow was right proud -- and understandably so -- of his "asparagus lamp posts."
