the entries have been a bit sparse as of late.  lots going on -- the asheboro paintings are just about finished.  there will be a packed gallery come next april.  started working on new paintings of women floating.  more about that later.  i hope to incorporate inspirations from time here in asheboro into these works.  also working on a portait commission.  still searching for chupacabra. . .

eric abernethy snapped off some great shots tonite.  asheboro's sunset theatre is mad cool eerie.  tonite i rendered the stage while perched in the balcony.  final reheasals for "man of la mancha" are underway . . . nothing like a spanish inquisition musical to bring out blue zombie . . . or loud madonna music and brew at rock star pizza.

blue windows are in asheboro.  check out earlier blog entries sixty-two and thirty-one.  placing them in the current painting makes them part of the first of several works based on asheboro inspirations -- but not necessarily actual scenes.  dig?

tonite we watched "prom night" -- not a classic slasher film, but loads of fun . . . atmosphere gets major points.  the interior of asheboro's sunset theatre is perfect for horror films.  they could have shown it's a wonderful life" and it'd still be scary.  the interior is creepy -- in a classy old school kinda way.

nothing new here.  things are falling off.  doors are closing.  it's chilly.  overcast brings color out.  the wind animates.  there is time to reflect, consider, and be receptive to beauty in this current phase.

additional light above the studio space is provided by radial geometric windows.  the glass diffuses light with pattern.  one pane diffuses with stars.  all the others today are paisley-esque pink with wonder filtering onto the canvas.

the 25 mile asheboro arts center commute fosters a frequent toggle betwixt two fm stations.  98.3 is country music legends -- the old stuff -- with honky soul.  two 'seek' presses up is simon at 98.7.  they play everything -- everything that falls under popular music from the 60s to today.

hank, merle, & willie.  prince, the beatles, & journey.   two seemingly different worlds separated by a very small amount of space. the space is only a small amount due to the limits of the car fm tuner.  there are infinitesimal amounts of aural frequencies.  the less-than-one-point between two stations could be a rather large valley.  while pondering the thought i pressed the 'seek' button twice.  the same roy orbison song played on both stations -- "pretty woman."

roy bridged the gap and made the smile between the ears.  the space is only as far apart as the thought.
